Really Really Long!

Ok, so sooo much has happened this week. I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll start at the beginning and work my way through the week.

Last Saturday I got to spend the day with Julie. That was a blast. We went to the Southern Women's Show to see Mario Lopez. I wanted to get a picture with him... but while we were hanging out around the WAPE booth they said that he was only going to sign autographs for 30 mins. Now, at this time there's at least an hours worth of people in line and he's still on stage doing the Q and A. So, ALOT of people were still over there. I decided to get a couple of pics of him by himself so I didn't start a riot when I jumped line. LOL. It was tons of fun. Then Julie and I went to Longhorn for dinner. We talked a lot and she showed me her cute waiter. While we are eating dessert he walks by as Julie is saying "This is so good" then when she sees him in a very prim voice she says "But I'm all done" as she puts her fork down mid bite. LOL the funniest thing in the world.

Then on Sunday I went to Nimnicht Chevrolet to look at cars. I found the PERFECT car for me. It's a white Chevy cobalt, with tinted windows and a sun roof. It has upgraded pioneer speakers and an 8 in sub in the back. It is absolutely perfect. I LOVE IT!!!! Funny story, Monday morning I am driving home from work at 5:30 in the morning. I hear this really loud deep bass as I stop at a stop light. I'm like, who would have their bass up that loud this time in the morning... Then I realize it's me. LOL. I'm just not used to having it. Hehe.

Then on Thursday, the best day of my life. I got to meet the click five. They are awesome. Mark and I planned on meeting at the station then heading over to Orange Park High School where they were going to have the concert. Well, when I got here Mark told me that they were coming in for an interview... So of course I had to stay and hang out. They came in for the interview and all of them came over to me to shake my had and introduce themselves. Now, when I met 3 doors down they were not nearly as nice. They did the interview and then Chase played their new single, "Catch your wave" He always turns down the song after he talks it up and they're all like "No turn it back up" Then Ethan says "Guess what guys, this is on the radio" It was the first time they had ever heard their new single on the radio. How cool was that. Then it's time to cut promos and guess who has to show them to Matt Ray's (the production guy) Studio? That's right ME!!!!! Eric has to go potty, so I point out the restroom on the way then when he comes out I walk with him to the studio. So then we go to the concert. It was great. If you want to see the pictures you can check them out on my photobucket site. http://photobucket.com/albums/v466/gsddiver/The%20Click%20Five/

At the show I got to meet Johnny Weitz. He's a DJ friend of Jay's and Chase's from Long Island. It was funny cause he introduced himself and I said Hi and such. We talk for a couple of mins and he asks what I do at the station, I said I do weekends and I do traffic with Chase. So he gets all excited and says "Oh my gosh, your Wendi. I have heard so much about you. I listen to you all the time" and he gave me a hug. It was sooo funny. After the show, Chase, Mark, Ashley (Chase's Girlfriend) Johnny, and Rod (Johnny's boyfriend) went to dinner at the Cheescake factory. It was lots of fun. Anyway, a ton of fun things happened this week.

And the best most exciting fun thing? I found out my sister is pregnant again so I am going to be an Aunt times 2.

All in all... my life is really great right now.

OUCH!

Ok, So I am Really Really out of shape. Normally when my dog has to use the bathroom I just let him out in the back yard. But since I am trying to lose weight I decided to take her for actual walks now. So yesterday we took a nice walk around the block with my 5 year old cousin, about half a mile or so with no pain or anything. So today I decided we could both walk longer. Yeah, I walked for about 2 and a half miles and I am in SOOOOOO much pain. My legs felt fine when I was walking... Now, I can barely stand. The biggest problem with that is that I can't run the board at the radio station when I am sitting down cause I am short. So... Life sucks right now. LOL. And I am reworking my website. Check it out and let me know what you think, (it's still under construction so some of the sections don't have anything in them for another couple of days.

Ok, so I don't know... I'm in a mood this weekend, think I'm getting sick which stinks... but beyond that I was reading a blog with was very interesting and it got me to write. It's written by a Muslim girl in Denver. She came to the US in 1999 or 2000 I think. If you want to find out more about the daily life of a Muslim girl check it out... http://sabrofaurora.blogspot.com/ But I read some of the newer entries and thought how good it was to read and decided I would read some of the first entries. Now, I understand she is Muslim and that she may not like the fact that Muslims are dieing in Iraq. But.. SHE MOVED TO THE US! We didn't make her come here. In 2004 when the Presidant was reelected, the comments that she wants to commit suicide because there are so many stupid Americans to reelect this president. But that he isn't worth losing a life over. Is she being forced to stay in this country? Is she being held here by chains? No, she chose to immigrate here (which she is more then welcome to do) but don't come over here, live in MY country and talk about how Stupid americans are. If we are so horrable, go away. I'm not trying to start anything here... I actually really enjoy learning more about her culture and daily life, and that's what great about america, there are many differant cultures here. But this is a post from her blog

"Anyway, I got the book, On the Justice of Roosting Chickens : Reflections on the Consequences of U.S. Imperial Arrogance and Criminality by Ward Churchill. Now this is really interesting. Ward Churchill is a fearless professor at University of Colorado. Fearless because he speaks his mind and doesn't care whether or not he is saying the "politically correct" stuff. He recently made national news headline because of what he wrote on his essays, which I thought was honest, candid and bold. Here is something he said about the 9/11 in his essay titled "Some People Push Back on the Justice of Roosting Chicken" :"They did not license themselves to "target innocent civilians.

"There is simply no argument to be made that the Pentagon personnel killed on September 11 fill that bill. The building and those inside comprised military targets, pure and simple. As to those in the World Trade Center . . . Well, really. Let's get a grip here, shall we? True enough, they were civilians of a sort. But innocent? Gimme a break. They formed a technocratic corps at the very heart of America's global financial empire – the "mighty engine of profit" to which the military dimension of U.S. policy has always been enslaved – and they did so both willingly and knowingly. Recourse to "ignorance" – a derivative, after all, of the word "ignore" – counts as less than an excuse among this relatively well-educated elite. To the extent that any of them were unaware of the costs and consequences to others of what they were involved in – and in many cases excelling at – it was because of their absolute refusal to see. More likely, it was because they were too busy braying, incessantly and self-importantly, into their cell phones, arranging power lunches and stock transactions, each of which translated, conveniently out of sight, mind and smelling distance, into the starved and rotting flesh of infants. If there was a better, more effective, or in fact any other way of visiting some penalty befitting their participation upon the little Eichmanns inhabiting the sterile sanctuary of the twin towers, I'd really be interested in hearing about it."

The whole essay can be found here, just in case you are intrigued. He was the Chair of the Ethnic Studies Department. After stirring up much controversies by his writings, he resigned from this position. Some people (Bill Owen, the Governor) wanted him to be fired. But he was tenured! Again, at the CU-Regent meeting, there were many protesters against the Board of Regents because they were contemplating firing this guy! Interestingly enough, a lot of Muslims showed up to show support for him. A few protesters were arrested. Where does "Freedom of Speech" exist in this country? Here is another interesting quote when he tried defending his essay:* I am not a "defender"of the September 11 attacks, but simply pointing out that if U.S. foreign policy results in massive death and destruction abroad, we cannot feign innocence when some of that destruction is returned. I have never said that people "should" engage in armed attacks on the United States, but that such attacks are a natural and unavoidable consequence of unlawful U.S. policy. As Martin Luther King, quoting Robert F. Kennedy, said, "Those who make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable."

Isn't that just a little frightening. Reading her blog she seems very nice... but how can she make a justificaiton for someone who writes stuff like this? I also thought it was funny how she says "Interestingly enough, a lot of Muslims showed up to show support for him." Who did she think was going to show up supporting him.. NYC Fireman? Maybe families of the people working at the pentagon... COME ON!!! Anyway what's your opnion? Am I being harsh? Let me know.

TomKat

Ok, Those who know me know I LOVE Katie Holmes. I thought she was adorable in Dawson's Creek. And showed a completely different person in Pieces of April. (Great movie if you haven't seen it) But I'm a little up in the air on the whole TomKat thing. I mean, no doubt they are adorable, Right?

But let's look at a couple of facts... (stolen shamelessly from AOL)

How Old Was Katie When...
Cruise Event Her Age
'War of the Worlds' (2005) 26
Nicole Kidman Divorce (2001) 21
'Jerry Maguire' (1996) 17
'A Few Good Men' (1992) 13
Nicole Kidman Marriage (1990) 11
'Rain Man' (1988) 9
Mimi Rogers Marriage (1987) 8
'Top Gun' (1986) 7
'Risky Business' (1983) 4

Ok, I know we all remember Seeing Tom in his undies in Risky Business... Now lets picture him with a 4 year old Katie... Michael Jackson went to jail for less folks. (Ok, granted he waited until she grew up...) But you gotta admit it's pretty creepy. So, I'm up in the air about this one. I think they are adorable, but they could have waited until they were married to have a kid. Remember the Katie Holmes speech when they started dating, "I'm a virgin and I believe in waiting until you're married".... RIIIIGGGTTT. But anyway, I'll probably write more as this story unfolds... and maybe I'll make a decision how I feel.

I AM SOOO FRUSTRATED!

Ok, I am really really frustrated right now. I love my job, but it's increadably difficult to do it when the equipment won't work. If it's not a computer problem, then my board (how I hear and record the traffic reports) won't work. Or my mic doesn't work... or something. Friday I was in 3 differant Studios because I couldn't make any of them work. ARG!!!! Today, My computer was messing up and we arn't supposed to do ANYTHING to it. But I called and called for hte computer guy and he never came so I just fixed it myself. I'm sure I will get in trouble for it. But gosh, a girls gotta be able to work.. RIGHT? Anyway, enough griping for one day. Maybe later I'll post somthing happy and good. It'll probably make me feel better.
